Jessica Cooper has taught strings and beginning band classes for twenty years in School District 51 and Boulder Valley SD. She currently plays with the Frozen in Time String Band and the Grand Junction Symphony.
She attended the Rockygrass Blugerass Academy for several years, taking classes from the members of Nickel Creek as well as Darol Anger, Casey Driessen, and Jason Carter. She holds a BA in music education from Colorado Mesa University and a Masters in music education with a minor in performance from Colorado University. Her teachers included Carlos Elias, Lina Bahn, Ryan Drickey, John “Blackdog” Ridnel, Alejandro Gómez Gullèn, and Cameron Law.
She enjoys the challenge of classical music with the GJSO as well as fiddling, singing, guitar, bass, and songwriting. She is currently teaching elementary music classes at Mesa Valley Community School.
